Students Affair & Welfare
Students Association:
The University has a Students Association (HKMUSA) with its own constitution of which all students are automatically members by subscription. The main purposes of HKMUSA are: a) To ensure the academic and social well-being of HKMU students and others, b) To liaise with other universities for exchange of ideas, knowledge and experience, so as to be versed with what is happening globally, c) To represent students in university participatory organs, d) It is a thriving association that organizes and participates in many activities, for example:

Expanding sports and games facilities in order to cater for the needs of increasing numbers of students
Participating in the national and regional annual East African University games.
Running a small printing unit that produces certificates and cards. By expanding this service and offering it to other colleges it will also generate additional revenue for HKMUSA.
Participating in monthly symposiums
Organizing a number of social events throughout the year including welcome parties, farewell parties, and beach parties.
Creating awareness of our cultural heritage during an annual cultural day held every March.

Religious activities:
Students as well as all members of university staff have complete freedom of worship. Hence there are dedicated places for individuals and groups to worship and pray. Our community is officially composed of Christians and Moslems. Christians of two denominational groups, namely the Episcopal Conference of Tanzania (TEC) and Christian Council of Tanzania (CCT) each have their own fellowship timetables. Moslems have a dedicated room for their prayers according the pillars of their system of practice.

To this end, students are required to pay a medical aid contribution, or take out medical insurance cover that is accepted by the service provider (MMH).
