The Mikocheni School of Nursing (MSN) is affiliated to the faculty of Nursing of Hubert Kairuki Memorial University (HKMU). The school is fully registered by the National Council of Technical Education (NACTE), and is currently at the level of accreditation candidacy. It offers two diploma programmes which are: Pre-Service Diploma in Nursing/Midwifery or Psychiatry programme, (4 years); and the In-Service Diploma in Nursing Programme (2 years).

The Mikocheni School of Nursing aims to be a centre of national and international excellence in nursing research, education and practice development. The school is headed by the Principal, currently Prof. Pauline Peter Mella, {MSc-Nursing-MCH (North Western Shreveport) BScN, (St. Louis), DAN (Nairobi), RN (Nijmegen)}, who is the overall in charge of all academic and administrative issues of the school.
