Delay in the Opening of the New Academic Year 2010/2011

The University will open on 5th November 2010

We wish to inform our prospective and continuing students, parents, sponsors and other stakeholders that Hubert Kairuki Memorial University, received a letter from the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, which was also circulated to other higher learning institutions, requesting academic institutions to extend their regular start of the new academic year from September/October 2010, to 5 November 2010, due to the fact that all resources of the Government will be directed towards the October 2010 General Elections.

Academic programmes that will be affected by the Government directives are Medical Doctor Degree (year 1-5), and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (year 1-3). However, other programmes such as the Masters in Medicine, the Pre-University Entry Programme, Diploma in Nursing and the Wholistic Therapeutic Counseling will start as usual, since they do not depend on financial support from Government bodies.

New students (MD 1 & BSCN 1) are supposed to report on 5th November 2010 for the orientation. Classes for the MD1-5 and BSCN 1-3 will begin on 8th November 2010.
